BATTLE OF THE BANDS!
ANOTHER very close overall points finish to the weekend’s Masters’ badminton tournament. The winning team ‘won’ by only 15points to the second place team and this team in turn was only 11points ahead of the team in third place. Interestingly, the team that eventually finished third actually won the head-to-head clash with the eventual winning team!
The top three teams were separated by ONLY 26points.
Unfortunately, the KISS team was much further behind and quite “kissed off!”
The Tournament itself ran smoothly – albeit with the Committee having to find last minute Fill-in players after a couple of late withdrawals – and some player/team swapping We ran with a FOUR team format with NO Byes and we also incorporated the ever popular cross-overs into this Tournament. The cross-over games during Sessions #1 and #3 were particularly close with several 31 v. 30 win/losses.Our final tournament of 2019 is at Tallebudgera Sports Leisure Centre, Palm Beach. A very popular venue – especially during Summer time!
