8th-9th October 2016

Five teams of seven players each kicked off the Tallebudgera tournament. A bit low in numbers for a Gold Coast event but still a reasonable number of players on all levels to produce the makings of a good, competitive tournament.

The event was once again based on our popular “Teams Event” with four games for each player per round. A couple of new players joined our ranks for this event and as usual they were slotted into positions based on information provided. This was also the second time we played in the main hall where conditions were quite different when compared to the hall we normally have available for our events. Most people however seemed to adjust quite well to the brighter surroundings.

The results recorded on day one  were quite close which made it a bit too early to predict which team was the one to watch.

Saturday night was again put aside for our regular get-together dinners  and a good attendance of 20 players made for a good night of socialising and good tucker provided by the Burleigh Bowls Club.

Sunday morning saw us back on the floor again and going by the scores that were coming in it didn’t take very long for players to loosen up from the previous day’s games.

Although at the end of the day most of the scores were reasonably close, the team that took out the honours for the weekend were the “Bush Fires” with a total point score of 1579.

See you all at Nambour on the 19th of November, 2016
