The entry limit was then increased to a maximum cap of 60.
Teams were named after a certain Line of ladies in each team and the tournament took on the title from the song of the same name.
The weather was kind and playing conditions very pleasant for the time of year – certainly, not as hot and humid as anticipated.
We did have several late withdrawals before the tournament and had to play with numerous FILL-IN players where players were missing! We also had a player ‘NO show’ on the Saturday and Sunday which meant even more FILL-IN players had to be found.
Many thanks to ALL players who helped out fill the gaps!
Unfortunately, we also had a few withdrawals through injury on the Sunday – sore shoulders, arms and dodgy knees requiring a rest! But also a (possible) Achilles rupture that occurred part way through Sunday morning. We wish you a full recovery David.
The tournament was run with five (5) teams with each team getting a 3-hour BYE at some stage during the weekend. Full-time players played 12 games each during the weekend. FILL-IN players played quite a few more!
The winning team was The Diane’s with 2060 points.
Second place went to The Tam’s with 2026 points.
Third place went to The Karina’s with 1950 points.
Fourth place went to The Julie’s with 1928 points.
Fifth place went to The Sobee’s with 1882 points.
Here’s too more successful tournaments in 2022.
