The first tournament of the year !
The 4 teams were named after the characters in the Marvel series “Fantastic Four”
At the team draw meeting the Saturday before the tournament, the team draw worked out perfectly with 40 players, being 4 teams of 10 players. YEA!!
And then 3 withdrawals came in before the tournament, making numerous FILL-IN players where players were missing!
Many thanks to ALL players who helped out fill the gaps!
Playing conditions were humid, with many players dripping sweat from their foreheads after their games. Having to cover for late withdrawals for some players made this more so.
The Annual General Meeting was held on the Sunday at 12:00 midday, resulting in a new president, vice president, and secretary. Heartfelt thanks to the outgoing president for a job well done.
The winning team was the Mr Fantastics with 2540 points – no surprise that team won with that team name !
Second were the Human Torches with 2466 points
Third were The Things with 2453 points – only 13 from second place
And last were the Invisible Woman(s) with 2425
The next tournament is planned to be at Craigslea State High School on 23 & 24th of April
