We played at Corinda High School Hall on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August 2024. The Paris Olympic Games were coming to a close on those days so it was an opportunity to name our tournament “Not the Olympic Games”! 33 people participated in the event including the one day players.
The “Gold Medal” winners were the Yanks with 2130 points and Barrie Deng lead from the front with maximum wins (15), points (465) and x-overs (93). Brijesh Aravind also had a strong competion with 13 wins, 459 points and the same x-overs as Barrie.
The “Silver” team were the Poms on 1941 points highlighted by the performance of Peter Wilton – 440 points and equal to the top x-over points.
The Bronze went to the Frogies only behind 21 points with a total of 1920 points , and the best performance for that team in achieving 429 overall points was Cherie Chua.
The Zonghuas came fourth with 1833 and got presented with a practical wooden spoon prize. Notable was Ron Tavinor with 90 x-over points.
